Frans Lenglet (SWEDESD, Uppsala University)
Frans Lenglet recently retired from the directorship of the Swedish International Centre of Education for Sustainable Development (SWEDESD) at Uppsala University, Visby, Sweden. With partners in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America he continues to be engaged in identifying, designing, testing, researching and disseminating appropriate and effective content, approaches and methods of “learning for sustainable change”, in formal, non-formal and informal educational settings. Such learning aims at empowering individuals, communities and organizations to reach and act on sustainable choices about the cultural, social, economic and bio-physical conditions affecting their own livelihoods and well-being as well as those of other people and future generations, within planetary boundaries. Frans Lenglet received his PhD in International Development Education from Stanford University.
Eva Nyberg (University of Gothenburg)
Eva Nyberg, PhD and senior lecturer at the Department of Pedagogical, Curricular and Professional Studies, University of Gothenburg. Her teaching and research concerns science education and formative assessment, primarily in biology and especially aesthetic and affective dimensions in teaching and learning science. Outdoor education and education for sustainibilty are related fields of interest. She is currently engaged in a research project focusing learning about plants.
Johan Boman (Centre for Environment and Sustainability, University of Gothenburg)
Professor Johan Boman. His work involves studies of air quality in urban environments in low and middle income countries and its connection to social development. Member of the steering committee for environmental science at University of Gothenburg. Lectures on sustainable development at University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of technology. Heading the Swedish part of the EU Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliances project “Competencies for A sustainable Socio Economic development” (CASE) (2015-2017).
Magdalena Svanström (Chalmers University of Technology )
Magdalena Svanström is an Associate Professor in the Chemical Environmental Science group. Her research focuses on environmental and sustainability assessment of products and processes, e.g., wastewater treatment and sewage sludge management, and wood-based products, often applied to guide development and optimization efforts. She is also conducting research within the field of education for sustainable development, e.g., on competences and assessment.
Olof Franck (University of Gothenburg)
Olof Franck is Associate Professor in Philosophy of Religion and Senior Lecturer in Social Studies Education at the Department of Pedagogical, Curricular and Professional Studies, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, where he also is Assistant Head. His research and teaching are mainly in Religious Education, Ethics and Philosophy of Life. Issues regarding social dimensions of sustainability and ESD, especially perspectives on varieties of moral values and existential and religious life-views in a pluralistic society, are in focus. Another research issue relates to epistemological and ontological arenas making space for questions concerning the relation between science and religion.
